About the Ukraine Section

European Relations’ Ukraine Section provides a platform for exploring the multifaceted relationship between Ukraine and Europe. Contributions address a wide range of themes, from the impact of European influences on Ukrainian domestic developments – such as in the economy, public administration, or particular policy areas – to questions of security and Russia’s war against Ukraine, Ukrainian foreign policy and Ukraine’s relations with the EU and European Countries, as well as European resonance of Ukrainian affairs.

The aim of the Ukraine Section is to give greater visibility to Ukrainian affairs and perspectives across Europe. While Russia’s war against Ukraine inevitably looms large, the section also seeks to highlight other developments that shape the country’s trajectory, including reforms, societal debates, and long-term challenges. By broadening the conversation beyond the war alone, the Ukraine Section raises awareness of Ukraine’s political, social, and cultural dynamics and fosters a deeper understanding of how they matter for Europe as a whole.
