Ruben Balázs Szabó

Martina is a senior undergraduate student at John Cabot University in Rome, where she is focused on deepening her scholarly research in International Relations, Public Policy and Development, as well as Legal Studies. Having lived most of her life between Lebanon and Bulgaria, her academic and professional interests lie at the intersection of geopolitics, security, conflict mediation, immigration, and human rights, with a regional emphasis on the Middle East and the Balkans. She currently serves as a Volunteer Assistant at the UN WFP, where she supports the Wellness and Culture Programme. Her work involves contributing to global wellbeing policy development, with a focus on creating resources for intercultural communication and support within the Middle East, North Africa, and Eastern Europe (MENAEERO) office. Previously, she worked on the diplomatic management team at the U.S. Tri-Mission Embassy in Rome. Following her participation as an official UN observer at COP29 in Baku, Martina expanded her focus to include sustainable development and climate justice, particularly in relation to security and conflict. She is currently researching the challenges of mitigating military emissions and the crucial role of international law in establishing effective national accountability frameworks. As Administrative Editor for *European Relations*, she brings a global outlook, a commitment to thoughtful analysis, and a passion for fostering informed, interdisciplinary dialogue.
