About Us:

European Relations is a new platform where students, graduates, and young professionals can publish their research and articles on European and international politics. Our goal is to make academic work more accessible and create dialogue among the next generation of European thinkers.

The Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled WordPress Developer (Volunteer) to support our growing platform and assist our existing IT team. This is a great opportunity to help build a meaningful project from the ground up and strengthen your technical skills while contributing to the development of an ambitious pan-European initiative.

Your Tasks:

✅ Maintain, optimise, and further develop our WordPress-based website
✅ Assist in customising themes and plugins (PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
✅ Improve performance, usability, SEO, and accessibility
✅ Implement new site features and troubleshoot technical issues
✅ Collaborate closely with the IT and editorial teams on technical solutions

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in WordPress development (themes, plugins, custom post types)
  • Solid knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Familiarity with Gutenberg and WordPress best practices (Elementor is a plus)
  • Basic understanding of web performance, security, and version control (Git)
  • Ability to work independently and reliably in a remote team
  • Interest in European affairs is a plus, but not required
  • Part-time availability: about 5 per week (can be arranged individually)
