Former Kosovo President Thaci Sentenced to Prison for War Crimes

Former president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci who led the country’s liberation from Serbia in the late 1990s was found guilty of war crimes and was sentenced to 25 years in The Hague.

He was found guilty for crimes including murder, torture and illegal detention by the Kosovo war crimes tribunal in The Hague

The crimes were committed as Thaci was leading the Albanian Kosovo Liberation Army during the violent liberation from Serbia in 1998-99

Kosovo’s current Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated this as an unacceptable and unjust ruling
