I’m Ryan McLaren, a Security and Democracy Shield analyst based in Sofia, Bulgaria. A recent graduate of MA International Relations from the University of Groningen, I now work at an independent, interdisciplinary think tank where I focus on foreign policy, international security, foreign information manipulation and influence, state capture and strategic corruption, and other priority topics of the Center for the Study of Democracy. A proud citizen of Europe, native of the Republic of Ireland, and have lived in Scotland, the Netherlands and now Bulgaria. I am motivated to raise awareness of the forces and factors actors use that try to tear us apart.
