1. General Terms and Acceptance
By submitting your article or thesis ("Work") to the European Relations website ("Platform"), you ("Author") agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms apply to all Works published on this Platform and are designed to protect the rights of the Author, the Platform, and the public, ensuring compliance with European and international copyright laws.

2. Eligibility and Registration
To submit a paper or thesis, you must be at least 18 years old or have legal parental or guardian consent.You must be a current student enrolled in a university (at least in your 3rd semester) or hold a bachelor's, master's, or equivalent degree.
You agree to provide true, accurate, current, and complete information about yourself as prompted by the submission form.

3. Copyright Ownership and Retention
The Author retains full copyright ownership of their Work. This means that the Author continues to hold all the rights to their Work, including the right to reproduce, distribute, and display it.The Platform does not claim exclusive rights over the submitted Work but reserves the right to distribute and make it accessible in accordance with the terms of this agreement.

4. Types of Submissions
Submissions should be original papers and theses relevant to the fields of European relations, policy, international politics, and other topics that align with the mission of European Relations.Works may include a variety of content such as research papers, opinion pieces, case studies, and analyses.

5. Grant of License
By submitting your Work, the Author grants the Platform a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free license to: Publish, reproduce, distribute, and publicly display the Work on the Platform.Archive and index the Work within our digital library and related academic databases.Translate the Work into other languages for broader dissemination, with the Author’s consent.This license allows the Platform to share the Work with its audience while ensuring that the Author's ownership rights are fully respected.

6. Creative Commons Licensing OptionsThe Author may choose to publish their Work under one of the following Creative Commons licenses:
CC BY-ND (Attribution-NoDerivatives): Allows others to share the Work, but it must remain unchanged and credited to the Author.
CC BY-SA (Attribution-ShareAlike): Others can adapt and share the Work, but must distribute their contributions under the same license as the original.
The selected Creative Commons license can be clearly displayed with each published Work.

7. Author’s Warranties and Representations
By submitting the Work, the Author warrants and represents that: The Work is original and has not been published elsewhere unless otherwise disclosed. The Work does not infringe on the copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights of any third party. The Work complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to privacy, data protection, and ethical standards.If the Work includes material owned by third parties (e.g., images, graphs, quotes), the Author has obtained all necessary permissions for its use.

8. Plagiarism and Copyright Infringement
The Platform employs plagiarism detection tools to ensure the originality of submitted Works. Any Work found to be plagiarized or in violation of copyright laws will be rejected, and the Author may face consequences, including removal of the Work from the Platform.

9. Editing and Formatting
The Platform reserves the right to make editorial adjustments to the Work for clarity, grammar, and formatting consistency. These changes will not alter the substantive content of the Work, and the Author will be notified before publication.

10. Revocation of Submission
Submitters may request to revoke their Submission by notifying European Relations in writing via Email. Revocation requests can be made at any point after the submission date. Upon receipt of a revocation request, European Relations will remove the Submission from public view within 10 days and cease any further use of the Submission in future publications. However, European Relations cannot retract any uses or copies already made or distributed prior to the revocation request.

11. Public Access and Use
By submitting your Work, you acknowledge that your Submission will be made publicly visible on the European Relations website and potentially used in future publications. You consent to the viewing and use of your Work by the public and European Relations as outlined in these Terms.

12. Intellectual Property
You affirm that you are the original creator of the Submission and hold all necessary rights to grant the licenses stated herein.You also agree that you have not infringed on the intellectual property rights of any third party in the creation and submission of your Work.

13. No Obligation to Publish
European Relations is not obligated to publish any Work submitted to us. We reserve the right to accept, reject, or remove any submission at our sole discretion.

14. Withdrawal and Termination
The Author has the right to request the removal of their Work from the Platform at any time by providing written notice. The Platform will honor such requests within a reasonable timeframe.The Platform reserves the right to remove any Work that violates its terms, infringes copyright, or breaches ethical standards.

15. Data Protection and Privacy
The Platform adheres to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws.Personal data collected from Authors (e.g., names, contact details, affiliations) will be used solely for the purpose of managing submissions and publication processes.Authors may request access, correction, or deletion of their personal data at any time.

16. Use of Published Works
Visitors to the Platform may access, download, and share published Works for personal, academic, and non-commercial purposes, in line with the licensing terms selected by the Author.Commercial use of published Works requires explicit permission from the Author unless otherwise specified by the chosen Creative Commons license.

17. International Compliance
The Platform is committed to complying with copyright laws and regulations under:
The Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works.
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Copyright Treaty. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and equivalent EU directives, including the EU Copyright Directive (2019/790).

18. Limitation of Liability
The Platform will not be held liable for any loss, damage, or claim arising from the publication, distribution, or use of the Author's Work. The Author is solely responsible for the content of their Work and any legal implications thereof.

19. Dispute Resolution and Jurisdiction
Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be resolved through mediation or arbitration before resorting to legal proceedings. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Country of Platform’s Registration, and any legal action shall be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction.

20. Liability and Responsibility for Content Accuracy
The Author is solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and authenticity of the information and data presented in their Work.European Relations is not liable for any inaccuracies, errors, or omissions in the published Works. The Platform serves only as a distributor of the Author's content.

21. Third-Party Content and Links
The Platform may include links to third-party websites or external content as part of articles, theses, or supporting materials. European Relations does not endorse, verify, or take responsibility for the accuracy, legality, or content of third-party websites. Authors are encouraged to ensure that any external references or links included in their Work are from credible sources and comply with copyright laws.

22. Author’s Rights to Future Publication
Authors retain the right to publish their Work in other journals, books, or platforms after publication on European Relations, provided that the original publication on European Relations is properly acknowledged and cited.

23. Multiple Authors and Collaborative Submissions
In cases of collaborative submissions, all co-authors must agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this agreement. The submitting author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have read and agreed to these terms before submission.

24. Open Access and Archiving
All Works published on European Relations are made available through open access, meaning that anyone can view, download, and share them freely under the terms of the selected Creative Commons license. The Platform may archive and preserve submitted Works for long-term access, even after they are removed from public view at the Author’s request.

25. Use of Author Information and Institutional Affiliation
By submitting a Work, the Author consents to the Platform displaying their name, institutional affiliation, and a short biography (if provided) alongside their Work.The Author must ensure that any affiliation or employment details provided are accurate and current at the time of submission.

26. Internal Identifier Domain Assignment
Works published on the Platform will be assigned a unique Internal Identifier (IID) that provides a permanent, citable link within the Platform's digital library. This IID will remain linked to the Work even if the content is updated or removed from the Platform.Authors are responsible for ensuring that any IID-linked references included in their Work are accurate and properly formatted.

27. Compliance with Ethical Research Standards
The Author confirms that their Work complies with ethical research standards, including the proper treatment of human or animal subjects (if applicable) and adherence to data protection and privacy laws.Any data included in the Work must be collected, stored, and used in compliance with relevant data protection regulations, such as the GDPR.

28. Amendments and Updates to Published Works
The Author may request to update or amend their published Work to correct errors or provide additional information. Such requests will be reviewed by the editorial team, and any approved changes will be noted as a correction or update in the publication history.European Relations reserves the right to make minor editorial corrections (e.g., spelling, grammar) to published Works without further notice to the Author.

29. Handling of Disputes and Complaints
If there are disputes or complaints regarding the originality, accuracy, or integrity of a published Work, the Platform will investigate and take appropriate action, which may include issuing corrections, retractions, or removal of the Work.Authors and third parties can report disputes or concerns by contacting the Platform through the provided contact details.

30. Conflict of Interest Disclosure
Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, financial or otherwise, that may have influenced the research, findings, or interpretation of their Work. This information will be published alongside the Work to ensure transparency.

31. Acknowledgment of Funding and Sponsorship
If the research was funded or sponsored by an external organization, the Author must provide an acknowledgment, which will be included in the published Work.Authors are responsible for ensuring that any conditions of their funding or sponsorship agreements do not conflict with this legal disclosure or the Platform’s policies.

32. Language and Translation
The primary languages of publication are English and French. Submissions in Spanish, German, Italian, and other European languages are also considered. Other languages not listed may require an accompanying English or French translation.The Platform may translate the Work into other languages for broader dissemination with the Author’s consent, ensuring that the translated version accurately represents the original content.

33. Notifications and Communication
All official communications between the Author and the Platform will be conducted via the email address provided during submission. It is the Author’s responsibility to maintain an active email address and promptly respond to any communication from the Platform.

34. Access for Users with Disabilities
The Platform is committed to ensuring that all content is accessible to users with disabilities, in accordance with applicable accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1). Authors are encouraged to submit materials (e.g., alt text for images) that support accessibility.

35. Platform Modifications and Availability
European Relations reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform, including the availability of Works, without prior notice.The Platform will make reasonable efforts to ensure accessibility and uninterrupted service but does not guarantee permanent access to published Works.

36. Changes to this Agreement
The Platform reserves the right to amend this legal disclosure and licensing agreement as necessary. Any changes will be communicated to Authors, and continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
