General
Can I submit work in a language other than English?
Yes, we accept submissions in English, German and French as primary languages. We also accept articles in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and other European languages, but English or French is preferred for broader accessibility and to ensure a proper review can be guaranteed by our editors.
What is the difference between the blog and the academic format?
The blog format is intended for current affairs commentary, explanations, and contextualization of recent events. Blog posts provide timely insights, analysis, and opinions on unfolding developments in European and international affairs. They are meant to be accessible, engaging, and thought-provoking, often written in a more journalistic or essayistic style without requiring extensive citations.
The academic format includes policy papers, theses, and dissertations that offer in-depth research and structured analysis. These papers follow a rigorous methodology, include references and citations, and contribute to scholarly discussions on European policy and international relations. Academic submissions are expected to maintain an analytical tone, present evidence-based arguments, and adhere to formal academic standards.
Who can upload blog posts?
Anyone interested in European affairs can contribute blog posts, including students, young professionals, researchers, and policy enthusiasts. Blog posts should offer insightful perspectives, be well-written, and contribute to meaningful discussions on international and European topics.
Who can upload academic papers?
To upload an academic paper, thesis, or research article, contributors must either be enrolled in a university (3rd semester or higher) or hold a bachelor’s, master’s, or equivalent degree.

Blog Author
What are the formatting requirements?
Blog posts can be uploaded either as raw text or as a PDF. This allows for flexibility in how content is presented.
Can I provide my own pictures for a blog article?
Yes, but only if you hold copyright ownership over the image. The standard process is that our editorial team selects a suitable picture under a proper license for public use. However, if you wish to provide your own image, you must ensure it complies with copyright rules, such as the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) or similar. If the picture is your own work, you must provide written consent for us to use it on the platform.

Academic Author
What are the formatting requirements?
Academic papers, theses, and research articles must be submitted as a PDF to ensure consistency in formatting.
What citation styles are accepted for academic papers?
We accept APA, Chicago, Harvard, and MLA citation styles. However, authors must consistently use one style throughout their paper.
Will my work be assigned a DOI or any other permanent reference link?
At this time, we do not provide DOIs, but each published article receives a permanent URL that can be used for citations and references.
Can I submit a piece that has already been published elsewhere?
For academic papers, we primarily accept university papers (such as theses, term papers, and dissertations) that have been previously submitted for coursework but have not been formally published in an academic journal. If your paper was graded at a university but remains unpublished, you are welcome to submit it.
If your work has been previously published in a journal, you must disclose this upon submission and confirm that you retain the rights to republish it. Some journals hold exclusive rights, which may prevent republication. If permitted, we will properly attribute the original publication. However, we strongly encourage authors to submit original, unpublished work whenever possible.
Blog Review Process
How long does the review take?
The review process typically takes between 7-14 days until you receive feedback. If further edits need to be made this can take longer.
Will I receive feedback on my submission before it is published?
Blog submissions undergo a light editorial review for clarity, relevance, and adherence to our guidelines. If minor changes are needed, our editorial team may make small edits without requiring author revisions. If more substantial edits are necessary, you will receive detailed feedback and have the opportunity to revise before publication.
Can I edit or update my submission after it has been published?
Minor corrections (e.g., typos or formatting issues) can be updated upon request. However, significant changes to the content may require submitting a revised version, which will go through the review process again.
Can I request a faster review for my blog post if it’s time-sensitive?
Yes, if your blog post covers breaking news or a time-sensitive topic, you can indicate this in your submission. While we cannot guarantee immediate publication, we will prioritize urgent pieces whenever possible.
Academic Review Process
How long does the review take?
Sed ut unde omnis iste natus sit volur tatem accus laudan totam aperiam ipsa ab illo et architecto.
Will I receive feedback on my submission before it is published?
Academic papers undergo a rigorous review by multiple editors, but they are not formally peer-reviewed (as of yet) in the traditional academic sense. However, our editorial team carefully examines each submission for:
- Plagiarism and originality (using plagiarism detection tools to ensure content is properly cited and not copied from other sources)
- Source credibility and proper citation (ensuring references are correctly formatted and come from reputable sources)
- Logical structure and coherence (ensuring arguments are well-organized and supported by evidence)
- Adherence to academic formatting requirements (including font, citation style, and referencing guidelines)
- Clarity and scholarly tone (ensuring the writing maintains a formal and precise academic style)
If revisions are needed, you will receive specific feedback to improve your submission. If plagiarism is detected, the submission will be rejected outright. In cases where the paper does not meet academic standards, it may be returned for significant revisions before it can be published.
Can I edit or update my submission after it has been published?
Minor corrections (e.g., typos or formatting issues) can be updated upon request. However, significant changes to the content may require submitting a revised version, which will go through the review process again.
Are external experts or academics involved in the review process?
Our editorial team consists of trained reviewers with expertise in European affairs and international politics. While we do not conduct formal peer review, we consult subject-matter experts for complex or highly specialized topics.
If external input is required, we will communicate feedback directly with the author, ensuring they have the opportunity to address any suggested revisions before publication.
